Be your own boss. It’s a desire of almost everyone on this planet. Everyone at least once in their lifetime wanted to start a business of their own. But most of them couldn’t make it happen. If you are among them, you should know it

“IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO START”

There are so many entrepreneurs and business persons who have started late and worked so hard to mark the top positions as theirs. The names include Gordon Bowker who founded Starbucks at the age of 52, Amadeo Giannini was 61 when had the vision to find Bank of America and how can we forget Colonel Sanders who was 62 when he started the world-famous KFC and obviously there are many others too.

I want you to know it – If they can do it, you can do it too. You just need to believe that you do. You have the power inside you.

Did you know? According to the industry survey, about 136,700 businesses open every day. But over the past 2 years, there has been a rise in new businesses and start-ups like never before. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their jobs thanks to COVID-19, which makes people start their start-ups like crazy.

If you haven’t considered starting your own business, it’s the right time for you to start. Don’t stop by giving yourself lame excuses like I don’t have much knowledge or I don’t have enough money to start and what-not. There are hundreds of thousands of excuses for not doing something you want, but there is just one strong reason you need, to do what you love.

It takes a lot to start a business from scratch. You have to do everything by yourself; learning every aspect of business like marketing, finance, management, etc. But it takes a lot more to keep it growing and standing up like a brand. It takes all physical, mental, psychological, and emotional levels of contribution and sacrifices to become a brand.

When you consider becoming an entrepreneur, there will be a lot of changes happening in your life. For example, your schedule will gonna change, your priorities will gonna change, and your life as a whole will gonna change. When there are a lot of changes going on, there is something that you must change and that is ‘You, Yourself’.

You have to work on yourself first, before jumping directly into the business world. Here are some soft skills you need to develop if you are considering becoming an entrepreneur in 2022. These skills will help you fight against the challenges you will face in your entrepreneur journey ahead. So, BEST OF LUCK!

Keep upgrading

Learning is a lifelong process and you should never stop learning new things if you want to grow and get success in life. You must learn and develop new skills to grow your business ahead; learning new skills and upgrading the existing ones. Otherwise, you won’t be able to scale your business. Also, learning new skills opens new possibilities and opportunities for your business and in life in general.

You can polish your existing skills or learn anything you want on e-learning platforms like Alison, edX, Coursera, Skillshare, etc. Some of these platforms are free and some are paid, choose what suits you the best.

Don’t be afraid of Failures

Failure and success are like twin sisters. They are inseparable. Failures are part of your journey to success, they are the signs that you are trying.

This image is about don't be afraid of failures.

You have heard several success stories of people like J.K. Rowling who got rejected by 12 publishers before finding success for Harry Potter and she is not alone, there are a lot more successful business persons like her. None of them are there without getting failures. And not just once they failed several times. But that is not what matters; what matters is the no. of times they stood up and evolved from it; the lessons they’ve learned from those failures.

So, don’t be afraid of failure. Instead, find the lesson that is hidden inside that failure. Failures are the best teachers who teach you the lessons you cannot learn anywhere else in this world. So, whenever you fail next time, tell yourself that you are one step closer to success.

Time management

Your time is the most precious asset you have. You can’t earn extra time by trading anything in this world. What’s gone is gone. It will never come back.

Treat your time like you treat your money. You spend your hard-earned money so wisely but when it comes to spending your time wisely, you generally fail.

Manage your time well and utilize it for the things that matter the most. Here are some time management tips for you,

  • Keep track of your time for everything you do.
  • Make a to-do list of the tasks and arrange them according to the Urgent-Important matrix.
  • Use apps like Trello or Asana to manage and track your tasks.
  • Plan and organize your day smartly.
  • Take small breaks to stay productive.

Learn to motivate yourself

Oftentimes you feel like quitting when things don’t go as you planned them. But there is nothing to worry about as it’s just a matter of fact that you are not feeling motivated anymore.

This image says you can do it

Motivation is like taking a bath; you have to do it every day otherwise you will start to stink. The same is with motivation, you gotta keep motivating yourself to keep the ball rolling. Here are some tips for you to stay motivated,

  • Read more and more books
  • Listen to podcasts
  • Listen to TED Talks

Most importantly, don’t stop working because you are not motivated. That’s a big mistake, not only it’ll waste your time but also your mind will develop a habit of doing so.

Entrepreneurship is a journey, enjoy it. Don’t stress too much. If you start this journey by making decisions strategically, and not randomly, it will help to achieve your goals much faster.

ALL THE BEST for a new start and the journey ahead.

Love it, Save the pin!
